Google updated the brand identity of the Android operating system last September. Thus, the logo was also renewed. In this new logo, besides the enlargement of the initial letter of the word “Android”, the most striking part is that the robot mascot has been made 3D.

While many people call this robot mascot in the logo “robot”, others refer to it as “bugdroid”. So there are many names floating around. Recently, Google put an end to this debate that has been going on for many years in a statement made at the CES 2024 fair.

Google used the expression “The Bot” for the name of the robot mascot in the Android logo at the fair. This was much talked about on social media.

In recent weeks, it was revealed that Nearby Share, one of the most popular Android features, will be renamed. For those who don’t know, Nearby Share is a feature that allows users to easily share files, photos, videos or links with other Android devices nearby.

Google announced at the show that Nearby Share will be renamed “Quick Share”. The company has partnered with Samsung for this.
